Acupuncture Video Text
Today is January 23rd, 2015, and it’s been 23 years and 4 months since I started practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I’m Benjamin Dierauf, and I provide safe, gentle, and effective healing for 6 types of illness: Aches and Pains, Stress-related Illness, Women’s Health Issues, Respiratory Issues, Digestive Issues, and Chronic Illness.
I use acupuncture, medicinal herbs, suction cups, scraping or guasha, moxa or heat therapy, and massage to help restore physiological, mental, and emotional health. For acupuncture I use super thin needles that are almost painless.
There are 3 stages of healing.
The First Stage: Relieving symptoms. You can get significant improvement after your first acupuncture treatment. I usually recommend a plan of 4-6 treatments, once or twice per week.
Second: Treat the underlying imbalances every week or two.
And the Third Stage: Maintaining restored balance, with treatments ranging from once a month to every change of seasons.
I was first exposed to Chinese medicine after college when I went to Taiwan to teach English in 1987. I was often getting sick from riding a motor scooter on the crowded polluted streets of Taipei in the cold wet winter. One of my students was a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, and I was amazed by how effective her acupuncture and herbs worked for me. This inspired me to go back to school and complete a 4-year program to become fully trained and licensed.
Here are six types of health conditions I can help you with:
Aches and Pains: These include headaches & migraines, shoulder pain, neck pain, mid-back pain, & lower back pain, knee pain, wrist pain, hip pain, & ankle pain, arthritis, tendonitis, strains & sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, TMJ, sciatica, kidney stones and pain related to surgery, sports injuries, and auto accidents.
Stress-related Conditions: including insomnia, anxiety & nervousness, & mild to moderate depression.
Women’s Health Issues: I have successfully treated many women with menopausal symptoms, PMS, cramps, and other menstrual or hormonal issues, including ovarian cysts and endometriosis.
Respiratory Problems: including colds and flus, allergies, cough, bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, and shortness of breath.
Digestive Issues: Including abdominal pain, heartburn, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, and gallstones.
Chronic Illness: I have treated a wide variety, including fibromyalgia, MS, Lupus, HIV, and chronic fatigue.
Chinese medicine provides a holistic way of looking at health and wellness, and works with Western Medicine in a complementary manner. From a Western medical point of view, it balances your autonomic nervous system, counters your fight or flight response to stress, and helps you to rest, relax, digest, and heal.
I get acupuncture once a week; it’s made a big difference in my life, and I know it will in yours.
My practice is based on my core values of Honesty, Compassion, Kindness, Balance, and Health. You can call, email, or use the online scheduling on my website to make an appointment. Thanks for watching this acupuncture video.
